In a garment factory, a worker got injured as a revolver found in bale of garments accidentally went off. These garments were imported from Canada. The incident took place in at Maruti Exports, in Kandla Special Economic Zone (KASEZ) near Gandhidham in Kutch.
Maruti Exports had imported a container-load of used garments from Canada. The container was packed with 43 bales of used garments. The police is further investigating the matter. As per media reports, the police identified the accused as Shivji Maheshwari, a worker.
The local police said that the workers found a revolver in the bale of used garments and were checking the same when one of the workers pulled its trigger accidentally. The bullet hit one of the workers in the abdomen. The worker was rushed to a hospital where he underwent a surgery. He is reported to be out of danger.
The company has not replied to an Apparel Resources email regarding this incident.
