Conflict between Puneet Kumar (IAS), Secretary General of AEPC (Apparel Export Promotion Council) which moved to Delhi High Court has been resolved with the HC refixing salary of Puneet Kumar and directed that till Puneet’s representation is decided by the Council, impugned order as well as resolution be not acted upon. AEPC did not reply to email and SMS regarding this issue when approached by Apparel Online.
The petition and application both were disposed of as High Court says that in the facts and circumstances of this case, it is deemed appropriate to dispose of this writ petition and direction to respondent Council to decide Puneet Kumar’s representation by passing a speaking order after the requisite advice is received by the Council. It also says the Ministry of Textile (a respondent) shall ensure that the requisite advice is promptly forwarded to the Council to enable it to decide Puneet’s representation with promptitude.
Puneet Kumar went to court and claimed that he has assailed the impugned order on the ground of mala fides. He claims to expose various facets of financial irregularities and bungling in the AEPC and the list of financial irregularities etc. It was also claimed that Puneet’s letter of appointment was of Rs. 5,00,000 per month which excluded the house rent allowance, medical and other allowances.
As per the annual report of AEPC for the year ended 31st March 2015, Puneet was paid remuneration of Rs. 88,70,156. Earlier Director (Highways), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, he has just completed 2 year in AEPC.
