The expo is an outcome of the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the Netherlands on November 3, 2015 to improve bilateral trade between the two countries.
It may be mentioned here that the Netherlands had earlier also resolved to support Bangladesh in getting fair price for its largest exported commodity, apparels, in the international markets. “We have to address the true pricing jointly, a fair wage, there has to be a fair price,” underlined Netherlands Foreign Trade and Development Minister Lilianne Ploumen.
The Netherlands is not only one of the largest buyers of Bangladeshi garments, but it also provides duty-free market access to Bangladesh.
