Deepak Jain, chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, emphasised the necessity for the proper infrastructure, logistics, and government assistance to turn the area into the nation’s industrial hub.
According to him, states like Punjab and Haryana have a great deal of potential for exports in the textile, auto component, bicycle, food processing, and other industries.
According to a release, the CII Northern Region will shortly launch an incubator programme to support aspiring business owners and assist them in networking to locate potential investors.
Additionally, it would focus on bridging the gap between rural and urban areas and make significant efforts to increase diversity at workplaces in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh.
”This year, CII will focus on internalising the tenets of sustainability and climate action and accelerating its globalisation journey for leadership in a changing world. This will be undertaken through an inclusive model of growth that builds trust between all stakeholders, including government, industry, society, consumers, investors, and the external community,” said Jain.
In addition, Jain unveiled the CII’s national theme for the year, ‘Towards a Competitive and Sustainable India@100: Growth, Livelihood, Globalization, Building Trust,’ which aims to bring together the organization’s initiatives across the nation to raise the level of competitiveness and spur growth.
Export-led growth and competitiveness, innovation and digital transformation, sustainability and clean tech, startups and entrepreneurship, and diversity and inclusion are the five primary priorities and emphasis areas for the CII Northern Region for the coming year, according to a statement.
