
Pakistan cotton prices ranged amid Rs. 2,600 to Rs. 2,800 only for a short span of time in the last month in lower Sindh region due to early picking and peaked at Rs. 3,200. Subsequently, the cotton prices continued to plunge in Sindh while the picking of the crop would end latest by early next month. The price of cotton seed has declined from Rs. 1,800 to Rs. 1,000 per maund, this has also the affected prices of phutti. China which is the biggest buyer of cotton has reduced its quota of cotton import to just 4 million bales against its past imports of 25 to 26 million bales is also the reason behind price dip.
