Cotton trading in Pakistan surged at six-week high to 23,600 bales. As per the report from Karachi Cotton Association (KCA), traders bought a total of 23,600 bales at Rs. 4,800 to Rs. 5,400 per maund (37.324 kilograms) as compared to 15,600 bales bought at a similar price recently. The rain has also slowed down the picking of phutti (seed-cotton) in Punjab, due to which the price of cotton has gone up by Rs. 50 per maund (37.324 kilograms) to Rs. 5,450 per maund.
