After a span of six years, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Panda, Textile Secretary, Government of India, has once again offered a book to the society – Making One Plus One Eleven – based on positive thinking and team building. His earlier released book Corporate Social Responsibility in India: Past, Present And Future – was a huge success. The book, containing 17 chapters and published by Star Publications, was launched by Justice Madan B. Lokur, Hon’ble Judge, Supreme Court and Satyananda Mishra, Former Chief Information Commissioner.
An IAS officer of 1980 batch, Dr. Panda has also spent four years as Chief Secretary of Tripura state. He is not only easily accessible, but with sheer simplicity, shares his personal experiences and efforts made at the grass root level to uplift and change the life of people of this eastern and often neglected state.
Some of the chapters are inspiring, dwelling into how change happens at the bottom level by a team, and it is their sincere efforts which actually make big issues look diminutive. In ’70s when Panda was a student of Chemistry, he conducted several experiments with chemical reagents; working as an officer in various capacities also gave him similar opportunity of experimenting and managing changes for meeting the expectations of common people. Such changes are mentioned in this book.
The book describes that how positive mindset and attitude along with working in a team and use of appropriate technology can increase the end-result by manifold. Apparel Online hopes that Dr. Panda’s efforts will continue to the welfare of the textile industry benefiting all.
