
In a meeting with Turkey’s commercial envoy Murat Mustu, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Zakariya Usman highlighted the need for early signing of PTA (Preferential Trade Agreement) between the two countries for thorough exploitation of trade potential. Shaukat Ahmed, Senior VP, FPCCI averred that Turkey has imposed three per cent duty on polymers which was being exported from Pakistan while imports from Korea and Egypt are duty free. He advocated immediate removal of this duty for increased Pakistan’s exports to Turkey. He also stressed on the need for removal of countervailing duties on textile raw material.
