The 28th edition of Garment Technology Expo (GTE) started today in Delhi. The four-day long show was inaugurated by H K L Magu, Chairman, AEPC (Apparel Export Promotion Council); Rajiv Dewan, President, Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan (GEAR) besides owners of leading technology providing companies. All of them were positive about the current market conditions as well as about the show.
Along with regular participants, the show also saw firms taking part in the show for the first time. WASTRA (Wazir Apparel Start-up and Re-engineering Assistance) an initiative by Wazir Advisors is one of them.
Voltas Limited is expected to grab attention as after its collaboration with Japanese knitting machine giant Shima Seiki last year, the company is first time participating in an event and GTE, being the largest technology event in the region, is a perfect platform for such companies.

First day of the event witnessed good number of visitors from different cities like Delhi-NCR, Kolhapur, Indore, Ernakulam, Tirupur etc. Some of the garment manufacturers are expanding while few are upgrading their infrastructure.
Mukta Group of Companies, Ichalkaranji, known for fabric manufacturers, is now adding garment manufacturing and will start a factory of 500 machines.
Good number of students from various fashion colleges and training centres also visited the show.
