To further boost exports and to create fresh demand from non-conventional markets, the AEPC invited buyers from Turkey, Australia, Greece, Botswana, South Africa, Ecuador and USA to its recently concluded Indian Market Days at Apparel House. More than 90 exhibitors/showroom holders adorned the event with their creative collections that were appreciated by the buyers. “India has a huge capacity to do the handwork that is gaining popularity in the west. Today the Australian Market is focusing more on handwork and tie & dye and I see huge opportunities in India in terms of infrastructure, fashion and supportive atmosphere. I hope all buyers make good use of these opportunities,” says Ashley Chappell, an Australia buyer.
Satisfied with the event, Deepak Bhatia, Managing Director, India Today Fashion said, “Efforts made by AEPC by organizing fairs for players like me have yielded results, as by attending such regular fairs we have found the right partners for our business.” Another set of Market Days will be organized in the month of November 2013. “By holding regular Market Days, the apparel exporters will be able to interact and negotiate good business deals with foreign buyers from non-conventional markets to grab some share of fresh demand,” said Lalit Thukral, Convener, Apparel Market Days.
