India and the United States are making good progress in trade negotiations with a cooperative spirit, according to Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. According to him, the two nations are collaborating to come to a “win-win” deal that is advantageous to both.
Presently, an Indian delegation is in the United States for the upcoming round of negotiations on the Bilateral Trade Agreement’s (BTA) first section. The goal of both parties is to complete the transaction by the end of this year. Rajesh Agrawal, India’s Chief Trade Negotiator, will join the group on Wednesday. Throughout the course of four days, the talks will continue till Thursday.
According to Goyal, a new export promotion policy will shortly be submitted to the Union Cabinet for approval by the Commerce Ministry.
He said that in order to help new exporters sell their goods in new international markets, the government will collaborate with them.
India is concentrating on both untapped areas and contemporary established nations as export destinations, Goyal continued. “The goal is to sign trade agreements with nations whose economies complement India’s strengths,” he said.
Despite global economic difficulties, Goyal referred to India as an “oasis of development” and stated that it is currently the world’s largest economy with the fastest rate of growth.
