Integrating technology with fashion, New York based designer, Adam Harvey, in collaboration with designer Johanna Bloomfield, has devised a unique collection, “Stealth Wear”, that offers protection from thermal-imaging surveillance used by drones. The collection is lined in silk for a flowy silhouette and uses similar aesthetics-lightweight, flexible metallized fabric to reflect heat and conceal the wearer’s thermal signature. Meant to conjure up the Middle East, the collection encompasses two Muslim-inspired pieces: a burqa and hijab, a hoodie, and a cotton T-shirt with a thermally reflexive drone print. While the drone proof pieces are expensive – £ 315 (US $ 487.45) for the hoodie, £ 370 (US $ 561.99) for the scarf, and £ 1,500 (US $ 2278.35) for the burqa, the simple T-shirt will cost £ 35 (US $ 45.58).
