The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendrabhai Patel, virtually inaugurated Welspun Home Solutions Limited’s new terry towel manufacturing plant in Gujarat. The facility is expected to generate more than 3,000 direct and over 10,000 indirect employment opportunities, taking the total workforce at Welspun’s Anjar complex to approximately 30,000 employees.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that the contribution of local companies such as Welspun is vital to building a self-reliant India. He noted that the Welspun Group has been operating in Gujarat since 2004 and has been actively supporting Government of India initiatives including Make in India, Make for the World, and Local to Global. He added that the group has played a significant role in generating local employment, promoting inclusive growth, and has achieved the notable milestone of completing the new plant within a short span of just 12 months.
Welspun Living’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dipali Goenka, said that every disruption faced by the organisation has reinforced its commitment to scaling higher rather than stepping back. She emphasised that stability, rapid adaptability and value-based execution are integral to the company’s culture, adding that when people are respected, systems are robust and decisions are guided by purpose, challenges ultimately translate into progress.
The event was attended by State Minister Trikambhai Chhanga, MLA Maltiben K. Maheshwari, Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat Manoj Kumar Das, along with several other distinguished guests and senior leaders.
In a separate development, Welspun Living Limited (WLL), has secured a score of 90 in the 2025 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment marking a significant milestone in its sustainability journey.
