Textile toy manufacturing is in its early phase in India and the factories seem to be pacing up with global standards and meeting three important parameters – quality, sustainability and technology.
Sensing the textile toy manufacturing a next disruptor in the industry, Team Apparel Resources has already started identifying the potential factories and supply chain partners that can lead from the front and establish a well-managed toy manufacturing industry within the country.
The same was suggested to Minister of Textiles and Commerce & Industry of India – Piyush Goyal – during a press conference recently in Delhi where he hosted a meeting with leading Indian textile and apparel exporters to know how collective efforts can boost India’s position in the global market.
“A lot of newcomers in textile toys manufacturing are doing tremendously well in India. PM Modi has also envisaged to scale up toy manufacturing in our country. However, majority of the industry is still unaware of certain important things such as they don’t know who all are buying toys from India, where to procure raw material from, in which HS code toy products are exported, how strong we are when it comes to recycling of material, and what skills are needed to sew textile toy products. Can Ministry work in conjunction with the industry to document all these?” suggested Team Apparel Resources.
Honorable Minister replied positively and said, “It’s a good suggestion. We have already been working in this area in collaboration with the industry stakeholders. Our Prime Minister has also shown his concern for toy sector. We would definitely work on taking this suggestion forward and develop more understanding.”
It’s worth noting here that that textile toys manufacturing is gradually shaping up in the country, and the industry leaders need to come forward to educate the investors in the sector so that an early and simple integration in supply chain from yarn manufacturing to product dispatch can be done.
Until today, a major share in the toy market worldwide is dominated by China and Indian market is also importing over 90 per cent of its toys from China.
