Indorama India Private Limited (IIPL), the leading producer of spandex yarns in India, stressed “innovation is ingrained in their DNA.”
“Our Spandex plant in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, epitomises our unwavering commitment to excellence,” stated Nilesh Sevak, who heads Domestic Sales, at the recently concluded Fiber & Yarn Exhibition in Mumbai. He added, “Equipped with advanced continuous polymerisation and dry spinning technology, we produce spandex yarn under the brand name of INVIYA®.”
He continued, “At Indorama, innovation is ingrained in our DNA. Our Polymer R&D Center enables us to continually work on new polymer developments, ensuring we remain at the forefront of market demands.”
Speaking on the Indorama’s remarkable growth since its inception in 2012, Nilesh explained, “From an initial capacity of 5,000 tonnes per annum, we now operate at an impressive scale of 25,000 tonnes per annum. Our steadfast dedication to quality and innovation has propelled us to a leadership position in the industry.”
Highlighting the sustainability initiatives particularly through their brand ECOModa100™, Business Development Head Rahul Singh said, “Our 100 per cent recycled spandex, made from 100 per cent pre-consumer spandex waste, with RCS 100 and EU REACH certifications. Moreover, our Bio-Spandex, under development, is poised to enrich our portfolio of sustainable offerings.”
Despite recent market fluctuations, both Sevak and Singh remained bullish about the future. “Spandex continues to be a rapidly growing market with significant potential both domestically and in export markets,” affirmed Sevak.
Singh echoed this sentiment, stating, “As consumer preferences lean towards comfort and performance, the athleisure, sportswear, and emerging applications present promising avenues for growth.”
