In the Indore district’s Budi Barlai village, the MP Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) plans to establish “Ahilya Garments City,” a specialised textile and clothing hub. The hub is anticipated to generate 12,000 new jobs with an estimated investment of Rs. 584 crore (US $ 67.71 million).
With intentions to create 60 lakh garments annually in the initial phase of its operation, Arvind Ltd. has purchased property in the area, significantly boosting the textile sector. The Arvind Group was given 12 hectares of land by the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) and letters of intent have already been sent.
In a related move, Noize Jeans Ltd., another well-known clothing manufacturer, acquired 12.5 hectares in Budhi Barlai for its own textile and clothing production facility.
These two businesses want to invest Rs. 584 crore (US $ 67.71 million) together, generating about 12,000 new jobs in the area.
While Noize Jeans Ltd. will concentrate on nine distinct manufacturing operations, such as the fabrication of sweaters, denim and footwear, the Arvind Group intends to develop a garment park in the area.
“It will go beyond just production facilities,” stated Himanshu Prajapati, MPIDC’s Executive Director for the Indore area. In order to accommodate the growing workforce, plans call for the construction of vital infrastructure, such as plug-and-play units for auxiliary enterprises, employee housing, medical facilities, a police station, a fire station and a commercial complex.
