Jal Exports, with head office in Mumbai, having expertise in men’s fashion shirts is expanding itself for exports as well as domestic market. Doing a total business of Rs. 35 crore with two factories and 350 machines in Bhiwandi and Amravati, it has recently added 300 more machines at a new unit in Bangalore. Now the company has a total of 650 machines and is producing almost 1,50,000 shirts per month. Speaking to Apparel Online, Vishal P. Thakkar, Partner of the company said, “Apart from Europe we are doing very good business in Brazil and Mexico as these are very emerging markets. We have seven buyers in both of these countries and we are very hopeful that we will get regular orders from these buyers. I feel there is tremendous growth in these countries so we expanded our capacity.”
The company’s new factory built on 40,000 square feet is compliant to all international norms. Vishal informed that they chose Bangalore for the new unit as it has more skilled labour than Bhiwandi and Amravati. Secondly, they are working to get certifications like WRAP and ISO for better working conditions and the working culture of Bangalore is little more supportive towards compliance.
