One of India’s largest textile manufacturers, RSWM Ltd., the flagship company of textiles giant LNJ Bhilwara Group, on Wednesday announced that it has signed a strategic technology partnership with Switzerland’s HeiQ to offer anti-COVID-19 fabric.
RSWM informed that it is launching anti-viral fabric range ‘ViroSecure’ through its latest collaboration with the Swiss firm, which has provided its anti-viral Viroblock technology that offers 99.99 per cent protection against SARS-CoV-2 in merely 30 minutes.
The fabric has been made under RSWM’s Mayur Suitings.
The company further shared that the “Viroblock technology is among the first textile technologies in the world to have a proven effect against SARS-CoV-2 in the laboratory.”
“Tests conducted by this Swiss textile innovator in association with the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity in Melbourne, Australia (Doherty Institute) highlighted that treated fabric demonstrated a rapid anti-viral action against the SARS-CoV-2 virus strain,” it added.
The textile firm said that it is targeting 20 per cent of the sales in this fiscal from the ViroSecure fabric.
RSWM said that the anti-viral fabric range will be available at various multi-brand outlets across India from 20 July, and will be priced affordably.
