Textile manufacturer Ruby Mills Ltd has resumed weaving operations at its Dhamni plant after workers called off a strike that began on June 29, 2026.
The disruption, which was limited to one department of the Dhamni Weaving Division in Khalapur taluka of Maharashtra’s Raigad district, was resolved after workers submitted an undertaking following the intervention of the local Labour Commissioner’s office and police authorities.
The company’s Spinning and Processing divisions remained operational throughout the period.
Ruby Mills estimated the disruption resulted in standing charge losses of around Rs 35 lakh, although its Spinning and Processing divisions continued operating normally.
The resumption of operations is expected to help the company restore its fabric manufacturing capacity and support volume recovery in the coming quarters.
Ruby Mills manufactures fabrics using fibres including cotton, polyester, viscose, modal, lyocell, linen, Bemberg, ramie, rayon and Lycra, and is focused on strengthening its vertically integrated manufacturing operations.
The strike was triggered by an ongoing wage settlement process, with a draft agreement yet to be finalised.
In a regulatory filing under SEBI’s Listing Regulations, the company said it is approaching the Regional Industrial Labour Court, Thane, for further action regarding the illegal strike after the Industrial Court had earlier restrained workers from obstructing operations.
The company added that it expects normal and peaceful operations to continue.
