Sutlej Textiles and Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of value-added yarns, has reported a turnaround in its financial performance for the first quarter ended June 30 (Q1 FY27), posting a consolidated net profit of Rs 1 crore (US $0.10 million) compared to a consolidated net loss of Rs 30.10 crore (US $3.15 million) in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company also returned to profitability on a sequential basis after reporting a consolidated net loss of Rs 18.18 crore (US $1.90 million) in the quarter ended March 31 (Q4 FY26).
The improvement comes after the company recorded a cumulative consolidated net loss of Rs 86.31 crore (US $9.03 million) in FY26. The recovery was supported by cost-management initiatives and the stabilisation of operations at its Kathua manufacturing plant, which had experienced disruptions during mid-2025.
Sutlej Textiles said operating performance also benefited from easing raw material and logistics costs, contributing to an improvement in margins during the quarter.
The company held its 21st Annual General Meeting on July 27, 2026, where shareholders approved the audited financial statements for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, along with other resolutions. Separately, Shri Jitender Kumar, Vice President – Raw Materials, resigned from the company with effect from July 17, 2026.
Going forward, the company remains exposed to risks including volatility in raw cotton prices, high debt levels and demand uncertainty in key export markets such as the US and Europe.
