Ranchi can be developed as a good manufacturing hub and various steps have been taken in this regard, but few of the initiatives are now getting converted into waste of resources.
A stitching training cum production centre situated at Barwadag village in Angara, just 40 kilometres away from Ranchi, is now a white elephant as it is not operational due to lack of support and promotion by the local administration.
It was started two and half years ago, but operations continued only for just few months.
The Centre, having variety of latest stitching machines, run by Jharkhand State Khadi and Gramodyog Board, was supposed to provide training and employment opportunity to around 150 people. And this is despite that the local people are very poor and need such training and employment opportunities.
Local social worker Mustafa Ansari says if local administration or Government is serious towards providing jobs and to help in the overall upliftment of local people, then they could have also done through mask manufacturing in this COVID phase.
Apparel Resources has approached Jharkhand State Khadi and Gramodyog Board in this regard. As and when any response comes, we will update here only.
