With an aim to facilitate handloom weavers, Government has set up nine Common Facility Centres (CFCs) along with Common Service Centres (CSCs) in different blocks and urban areas to provide facilities like training, dyeing, yarn, warping, IT-enabled services, banking, Aadhaar Card, e-commerce, e-ticketing services, etc. So far, more than 21,000 persons have benefited from these initiatives.
The Government has also sanctioned ten block-level clusters in different blocks and urban areas of Varanasi at a total cost of Rs. 7.89 crore with Central share of Rs. 7.70 crore. The first instalment of Rs. 5.12 crore has already been released. Around 4,129 weavers will be covered under this initiative.

A mobile app, E-Dhaga, developed by the National Handloom Development Corporation has also been launched by the Government to facilitate online payment for purchase of yarn. Several camps have been held in the region to train the handloom weavers in accessing digital payment modes. Almost 307 such camps were organized in Varanasi at which 12,502 persons took part, underline the Minister.
