E-commerce major Amazon is all set to begin one of India’s most awaited sales – Prime Day sale – in the country early next month.
Reportedly, the company aims to revive consumer spending ahead of the festive season through the sale.
The 2-day sale will begin on 6 August, providing some amazing offers to Amazon Prime users including early deals, exclusive discounts, free 48-hour delivery, streaming music and video among various other benefits.
It must be mentioned here that the popular Amazon Prime sale is going to take place in the month of August for the very first time; prior to this, the event has always happened in July. The COVID-19 pandemic pushed the schedule this time around.
Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India, expressed his excitement that the upcoming sale will allow the Amazon Prime members to “start discovering joy early ahead of Prime Day and earn cashback every time they shop from tens of thousands of small businesses including local stores, karigars and saheli entrepreneurs while supporting their business in these challenging times.”
The online retail giant revealed that the sale will give customers the access to more than 300 new product launches from brands including Fabindia, Max Fashion and Decathlon, among others.
The Amazon Prime sale will also showcase more than 150 exclusive product launches from small businesses.
Reportedly, the e-commerce brand will reveal some of its major offers tomorrow (23 July).
Scheduled close to the upcoming festivals like Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami and Independence Day, the sale is likely to stimulate consumption.
“We timed the event in such a way to ensure that our ecosystem and partners are also set up to scale,” said Akshay Sahi, Head, Amazon Prime India.
