The India unit of US-based global e-commerce behemoth is taking every single step to promote its second edition of Amazon Prime Day, set to start from July 16 for a span of 36 hours.
The retailer has started promoting its much-awaited event by setting up virtual reality (VR) Amazon Prime Day experience zones in shopping malls in selected cities. This set up shall allow customers in selected malls in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata to experience products, which are launching exclusively on Prime Day.
Select City Walk, Ambeince Mall, and Great India Place in Delhi-NCR, Inorbit Mall in Mumbai, Avani River Side Mall and South City Mall in Kolkata, Orion Mall and Phoenix Whitefiled in Bangalore, and Phoenix Market City and Express Avenue malls in Chennai have VR Experience Zones.
The move is aimed to introduce the touch-and-try concept to online shopping. “VR Experience zones allow customers to feel and get to know more about the products that are yet to be launched,” Akshay Sahi, Head of Prime, Amazon India stated in a statement issued by the company.
“The VR Experience Zones in these malls let customers to virtually check the fit and fall of a dress on a 360-degree hologram, intricate details of electronic goods can also be visualised that how they would look in their homes,” added Sahi.
200 exclusive launches and other deals will be offered to Prime members during the Prime Day, the flagship event of Amazon.
