
Baazar Retail Pvt. Ltd., the operator of Baazar Kolkata and Fashion City, has crossed 250 stores as it enters its 25th year, strengthening its presence across 13 states. The retailer now operates a network covering around 15 lakh sq. ft. of retail space.
The company has expanded across West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Uttarakhand. West Bengal remains its home market, while Eastern India and the Northeast form a significant part of its network.
Baazar Retail has rapidly expanded its store network, adding 49 stores in FY24 and 37 in FY25. More than 40% of its stores are less than two years old, while the average store size is around 8,000 sq. ft.
The fashion segment remains at the core of the business, with garments contributing around 95% of revenue.
The retailer also offers cosmetics, accessories, toys, stationery and household products, targeting value-conscious consumers, particularly in Tier-II and Tier-III markets.
With the 250-store milestone achieved, the company’s next phase is focused on improving store productivity, inventory efficiency and the economics of its expanding retail network.
