A start-up based in Ambala, NUFAB Technical Textiles Pvt. Ltd. announced that it has developed a unique non-woven fabric useful in making coveralls which will significantly reduce the infection risk to frontline medical workers, and can help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new fabric is soft, comfortable, light weight, impregnable, permeable and above all breathable, which will help frontline medical workers immensely by reducing the infection risk by up to 90 per cent.
The value-added fabric is certified and approved by DRDO and is extremely useful in making coverall gowns.
Talking about the non-woven fabric, Salil Goyal, Director, NUFAB, said “Our new offering is a specialised product and is certified from DRDO. Besides being light weight, the fabric is breathable and thus, reduces chances of infection substantially.”
Another benefit is that it is recyclable and environment-friendly. Also, it is made without warp and weft weaving and knitting.
Notably, it is also used in automotive, agriculture, packaging applications, etc.
Founded by Salil Goyal along with other directors Rishabh Bansal and Sanjay Modi, the start-up specialises in producing technical textiles and is continuously working on expanding its product range. With joint ventures in place, NUFAB is looking for foreign investments.
