
As travel ban on international flights gets lifted and buyers start visiting India, for individual meetings as well as sourcing fair, the apparel industry becomes positive and expects to see more orders in the coming months.
A month and half back, Apparel Resources had reported that buyers’ have started visiting the factories and, additionally, have started visiting events.

In-person meetings with buyers as well as buyers’ visits of various sourcing events are the major source of order generation for hundreds of Indian apparel exporters, especially small-and medium-level companies.
Ongoing India Handicraft and Gift Fair (IHGF Delhi Fair 2022) is witnessing a reasonable number of international buyers from many countries, and these buyers are also busy exploring new collections and products offered by Indian apparel and accessories exporters.
There are many textile-based companies displaying their products in this event. In Delhi-NCR, this is the first major physical sourcing fair after two years of pandemic.

In a discussion with Apparel Resources at the event, exporters shared that as buyers’ visits are taking place after two years, it is helping improve the sentiment. They also said that there are enough chances of orders getting placed soon.
The buyers were seen busy discussing business at many booths.
This scenario is majorly benefiting the small exporters as they work with small and medium level buyers;however, so far they have not seen any major improvement in the business.
While agreeing with this, P. Kapoor of Pragya International, New Delhi says that such visitation of buyers shows that they are now positive about India– from business point of view and as a Covid-free destination.
