Betabrand, an online clothing company, joined hands with security software giant anti-virus firm Norton in October éast year to develop jeans which will block signals to stop thieves from hacking into Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Cards are equipped with RFID chips and criminals are able to read them using special RFID scanners. It is using silver-based material to block signals to make jeans and a blazer. The jeans will retail at US $ 151 and the blazer at US $ 198; they will be in stores by February 2015. Made of cloth woven with metal fibres, the suit is not cheap to make but is washable. This idea was brought into play after several police officers reported that some mobile phones confiscated recently had been remotely wiped because they had not been stored in a secured way.
