Workers and staff of the apparel factories are expected to get vaccination soon in the factory and office premises as the Union Government has given permission for the same across all states and union territories – with effect from 11 April.
For this, any organisation should have at least 100 eligible beneficiaries.
This decision of the Government will help save time and efforts of lakhs of garment workers and staff of the state.Additionally, there will be less rush at the hospitals.
On the other hand, factories will record less absenteeism, as workers may not need to take leaves for vaccination.
Factory owners and trade bodies in Noida are quite active in this regard as Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) has urged for the same to the State Government – through letter – on 5 April.
Lalit Thukral, Chairman, NAEC told, “We appreciate the move of Government as it benefits all. Many big factories in the Noida have proper medical rooms with first-aid box and other basic facilities, so that medical teams can easily operate all processes regarding vaccination.”
Noida and Ghaziabad are the two biggest apparel manufacturing hubs of Uttar Pradesh, withover 3,500 garment factories in both cities and around 4 lakh workers above 45 years.
Just last week, the Uttar Pradesh Government had issued a one-day leave order for the employees of public and private companies to get vaccinated.
It is pertinent to mention here that in Gurugram, factories have already started similar exercise and are making sure that their staff – above 45 years –gets vaccination in the factory premise only.
