Green Project W.S.T. Ltd., Bangladesh is one of the most recently established organizations which helps optimize garments, steam, compressed air and electrical energy savings in the dyeing processes. Addressing the complexity of the entire value chain, from the fibre & yarn to the readymade garments, W.S.T. (Water Saving Technology) is represented in India by Texperts, an international textile sourcing and marketing organization.
With the vision of saving water and aiming at sustainable factories with minimal cost, W.S.T.’s implementation of the technology in textile industry to save water has been accepted by Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under the administration of PEAR Carbon Offset and the company is going to conduct their examination in Bangladesh at Grameen Knitwear Ltd. and Landmark Fabrics Ltd., two leading textile manufacturers in Bangladesh that are exercising Green Project with W.S.T.’s technology to save water and energy. “For all dyeing houses in the world now, water saving is not an option, it is a must!” exerts Sharad Sanghai, Director, Texperts.
The focus on the company’s program is on the use of water-efficient dyes and chemicals, and also educating the organization on water conversation. “By only selecting the right kind of chemicals and dyestuff, 50% of the water consumption can be reduced; moreover if one starts working as per international standards a further reduction of 70% in the water consumption can be achieved. Our minimum target is to reduce the consumption of water for one T-shirt from 25 litres to 10 litres,” explains Sharad.
