Colonel S. Kapoor has taken charge as the Director General of Okhla Garment and Textile Cluster (OGTC)– a prestigious trade body. He took over the charge from RC Kesar who retired recently.
RC Kesar was amongst the founders of OGTC,where he served for 18 years.
Delhi-based OGTC has more than 100 members with many of them being leading apparel exporters.
With 27 years of experience in the Army and 15 years as Executive Director of Faridabad Industries Association, Colonel S. Kapoor has the expertise to execute the planning on ground level.
Talking to Apparel Resources, Colonel S. Kapoor said that his focus and vision is to ensure that all the members of OGTC invest in Industry 4.0 and get maximum advantage of the same.
He also said that simultaneously, there will be thrust on reducing carbon footprint and creating an environment that helps apparel export to grow. Besides,it will also contribute to India’s vision of becoming a US $ 5 trillion economy by 2024-2025.
“Maximum use of technology, taking care of compliance and environment are the need of the hour. OGTC is already working in these areas and we will increase our efforts for the same,” he said and further added that he will keep motivating all the members of OGTC in these areas.
