Orient Craft, once a leading apparel exporter of India, is again in news!
Few contractors in Ranchi have blamed the company for not clearing their huge payment. Due to this, these contractors are facing lot of challenges.
Consequently, the contractors agitated near the factory and demanded to release their payment on priority basis.
These contractors, who did variety of work for the company, told local media that around Rs. 3 crore is stuck, as a result of which they are unable to clear the payment of their sub- contractors and other business associates as well.
The disillusioned contractors have urged the State Government to help in this regard. They are even ready to negotiate on the amount.
On the other hand, it has been said that as the export house is not continuing its operation in the state, the State Government is initiating the process to get the land back which was given to the company. Apparel Resources could not confirm this.
It is pertinent to mention here that the company recently closed its units in Jharkhand and Noida.
