Apparel manufacturing businesses are on revival mode and countries such as India, Bangladesh and Pakistan are busy catering to buyers’ orders all these months.
The same can be realised seeing China’s sewing machine export data released by General Administration of Customs of China (GACC).
China exported sewing machinery worth US $ 535 million in January and February this year, growing 15.15 per cent compared to the same period the year before.
Of total values, industrial sewing machine’s share stands at US $ 289 million, noting 37.30 per cent Y-o-Y growth.
India, Vietnam and the United States were the top three export destinations of China’s sewing machinery in the first two months of 2022. Moreover, India, surpassing Vietnam, has once again become China’s largest export market.
China has exported US $ 53.67 million worth of sewing machines to India, increasing 20.87 per cent compared with the year before, and contributing 15.55 per cent to the sector’s gross export.
Vietnam imported US $ 45.96 million worth of sewing machines from China in the first two months of 2022, growing by 51.91 per cent on Y-o-Y basis, while the shipment to USA valued US $ 25.27 million, up 13.11 per cent on Y-o-Y basis.
Besides, the sewing sector has also seen its significant export to the following countries compared with the year before: Pakistan (US $ 23.61 million; up 40 per cent), Bangladesh (US $ 23.22 million; up 20.67 per cent) and Singapore (US $ 20.75 million; up 85.95 per cent).
