The Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) of Madhya Pradesh will soon set up 100 industrial clusters across the state in a bid to make an industrial ecosystem and promote entrepreneurship. Also, around 2,750 start-ups have also been set up in the state so far after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the MP start-up portal on 13th May last year.
“If anybody wants to set up an industrial or start-up unit in the state, he should have an industrial plot. Now, there is no need for permissions and licenses, these requirements will be implemented after completion of running the unit for a period of three years”, said Secretary and Commissioner of the MSME Department P Narhari.
Known for taking up innovative ideas, MP Government’s initiative, Ladli Laxmi Yojana was planned by Narhari, which later inspired the Beti Bachao Beti Padao Yojana of GoI.
“Over 100 industrial clusters for establishing the start-ups would be soon set up across the state, and the work of identifying lands is underway,” he added.
The lay foundation of the clusters will be organised by May 2023 according to sources. Every district would have at least one cluster established to have regional balance. The MSME will focus on developing products that are the identity of the districts and a network will be developed to provide the markets for those products.
To ease the establishment and operations of industries, the State Government had released an ordinance on 27th January in which the government can take decisions to dilute and exempt rules and regulations for promoting an industrial ecosystem.
The State Government is committed to the ease of starting and doing business, said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the 7th edition of the Global Investors Summit held on 11th-12th January.
“So far, 2,750 start-ups have been set up in the state in various sectors such as Information Technology, Pharma, Health, Agriculture, Fintech, Textiles, Power Loom, Apparel etc., after launching the new policy,” the Commissioner of MSME said.
Launched in 2022, the MP start-up policy and implementation scheme was planned by the Commissioner of the MSME, Narhari. Additional concessions and subsidies are being provided for up to 50 per cent of upgradation, electricity and expenditure incurred to promote power loom, textile and apparel sectors among others. Entrepreneurs are also being provided financial assistance and fiscal incentives for infrastructure development and MSMEs.
