National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Srinagar’s students, have achieved almost 60 per cent placements. As per media reports, as placement season continues, the institute hopes to achieve 100 per cent placement by the end of 2021.
In the last two years, the centre has placed 41 students with over 40 companies. As per a report of Greater Kashmir, Aditi Dange, a student from Bachelors in Fashion Communication (FC) class 2021, received the pay package of 10 lakh per annum.
Another student from FC, Manya Garg was offered a similar package. Manya works for Reliance Brands Limited, while Aditi works for Wipro Limited.
Other top performers include Anubhav Saini who has been hired by AMPM Fashions, Nischay Sharma by AMARIS by Prerna Rajpal and Ishna Bisht by KHANJIO.
Dr. Javid Ahmed Wani, campus Director said, “We feel proud that our students have completed their degrees in 2020 and 2021 within stipulated time despite the disruption by COVID-19.”
He further added that in the current situation, NIFT is concentrating on placements in emerging areas such as digital marketing, online portals and visual merchandising.
In an another development, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir had a meeting of the UT Level Advisory Committee of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Srinagar.
It was informed that the campus of NIFT Srinagar with state-of-art facilities will be completed by May 2022. The NIFT campus, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 325.36 crore on an expanse of 16.6 acres of land, will be the biggest amongst the 17 such campuses in the country.
