While India has already withdrawn objections to market access to Pakistan in the European Union, Pakistan too has reciprocated by restricting the negative list of trade to 1100 items, in order to promote the bilateral trade between India and Pakistan. Indian policy makers have also agreed upon various proposals relating to trade barriers, examined at a conference, nuts and bolts for trade facilitation.
Another gate has been opened up at Wagha Border facilitating transportation of about 80 trucks a day comparing with about eight trucks a day earlier and India is even looking at yarns and women’s wear from Pakistan, besides the home textile products. Brand holders Gul Ahmed, Alkaram and Junaid Jamsheed manufacturing garments from Pakistan are even opening up their chain stores in India.
