In order to attract more shares in the regional and international markets, Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan has announced that well-planned efforts will be made to increase the export of value-added garments. This move was made after noticing the significant growth in export of value-added garments, and a decline in low-valued textile products like cotton, yarn, and greige fabric. Despite the challenges faced by the industry, internally and externally, the readymade garments’ exports grew by 10.05 per cent to US $ 2.101 billion in 2014-15 from US $ 1.909 billion in 2013-14.
