EURATEX (The European Apparel and Textile Organisation), a European organization based in Brussels, Belgium, has elected Serge Piolat, co-owner of French producer of technical spun yarns – Schappe – as its new president for the next two years. PIolat has been a member of EURATEX board of directors since 2009 and its vice-president since 2011. Piolat said that he will work to further enhance the industry by focussing on priority areas such as genuine industrial policy, free and fair trade, research and innovation support and sustainable production.
