Director of Sericulture, J&K, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat on Saturday inaugurated the Silk Mark Expo 2024 in Jammu organized by the Silk Mark Organization of India under the aegis of the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, at Kala Kendra.
Speaking on the occasion, the director stated that the purpose of the celebration is to honour the classic beauty of pure silk while shielding customers from the threat of fraud and fake goods. According to him, shoppers from all over India may now experience the opulent charm of pure silk and justifiably demand authenticity from the products they buy.
“There are fraudulent traders selling impure silks crafted from inferior materials, which threatens the integrity of this cherished textile,” he said.
Bhat further shared that the Silk Mark Expo Jammu 2024 showcases a wide variety and diverse commercial silk products.
