HCM City (Vietnam) is all set to organise Cotton Day on 12 September. The objective of the event is not only to bring the garment and textile factories, their associates and all related to the cotton industry on the same platform but also to strengthen the links between them.
Cotton Day, which will be jointly organised by Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) and Cotton Council International (CCI), offers a big opportunity for all garment and textile firms to know and study about the latest consumption trends of brands as well as the demand for cotton worldwide.
A major highlight of the event will be a fashion parade and a conference that will introduce the exquisite Cotton USA collections of world-renowned brands such as John Henry and Canifa. The collections will also include the ones designed by the winners of the contest conducted by Cotton USA.
The CCI, since the start of this year, has been helping local fashion brands in Vietnam to use cotton from the USA to help improve the quality of their products. Vu Duc Giang, President, VITAS averred that the event will further help the local Vietnamese enterprises to use the label “Cotton USA” on the products.
Considered one of the biggest events organised by CCI in Asia, this is the first time Cotton Day is being held in Vietnam. Since its initiation in Japan at the start of the 1990s, the event has been successfully held in countries such as China, Korea, Taiwan, Bangladesh and Thailand.
