It was in 2012 that Zoje entered Bangladesh market and in its second year of operations the company has already achieved sales worth US $ 3 million. Among of the biggest companies using Zoje machines is Hop Lun Apparels, a Sweden based lingerie manufacturer that has more than 2000 sewing machines of Zoje and plans are to install another set of 6,000 machines more from the company before the end of this year.
When Zoje entered the market, Bangladesh was already monopolised by machine manufacturers from Japan and China, and the Japanese had the upper hand due to their strong presence of nearly two decades. “With time, people realized that the only thing lacking with Chinese companies is branding, though their machines are at par in quality with Japanese brands and moreover most of the Japanese brands have manufacturing units in China,” asserts Chris You, Managing Director, Zoje Sewing Machine Bangladesh, endorsing the capabilities of Chinese sewing machine manufacturers.
The company showcased its ZJ-AM-5770A-410 automatic machines pattern sewing machine for quilting on padded jackets and outerwear clothing. The major highlight of the automat is nearly unlimited sewing area with no-upper limit for the X-direction and an upper limit of 410 mm in the Y-direction. With the maximum sewing speed of 2,800 RPM, the pattern sewer can store up to 999 sewing patterns, with each pattern made of 50,000 stitches.
In a short span of time, Zoje has developed a strong foundation of 7 local and 3 Chinese technicians at its Dhaka office.
