The Woolmark Company has collaborated with India-based premium handmade fashion label Péro and Kullu-based wool weavers’ cooperative Bhuttico, for a one-of-its kind #FarmToFashion collection to be revealed at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019.
The collection incorporates the use of Australian Merino wool and aims to highlight India’s iconic hand-weaving tradition through handwoven and handmade luxury garments. Marking the first for the trio, the collaboration is a part of The Woolmark Company’s Grown in Australia, Made in India initiative and showcases handmade Merino wool textiles in Péro’s signature style.
The traditional textiles of Kullu inspired Péro to work with the artisans to revive traditional geometric patterns of ‘pattu‘, which are presented in monochrome colours with tone on tone textures in the shades of blue, khaki and off-white.
The collection will be presented on DAY 2 of the fashion week in Mumbai.

Merino wool possesses strong eco-credentials as more and more designers and fashion brands opt for natural, renewable & biodegradable fashion choices.
Bhuttico is one of the oldest Indian co-operative weaving societies having a long standing relation of more than 50 years with Australian merino wool.
