India’s most credible talent discovery programme for upcoming designers – GenNext–has revealed winners of its 32nd batch, who will be showcasing their collections at the upcoming joint FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week scheduled in October this year.
32-year-old Deepit Chugh hailing from Mumbai and 28-year-old Twinkle Hanspal, who hails from New Delhi, have been chosen via a virtual jury selection process.
The applicants were required to submit a video montage of their ensembles to complement their presentation, post which shortlisted applicants presented their collections digitally to an expert jury comprising Tarun Tahiliani, Priya Tanna, Aashti Bhartia, Director of Ogaan; Sumati Mattu, Head of Innovations at Lakmé;GenNext Mentor Sabina Chopra and Head of RISE Fashion & Lifestyle,Jaspreet Chandok.
“We take pride in our GenNext programme for identifying, mentoring and recognising young designers. GenNext enables young designers to have the best possible exposure into the world of fashion. We look forward to these 2 winners debuting their collections with us and making a mark in the industry,” Jaspreet Chandok, Head – RISE Fashion and Lifestyle said.
The ‘INIFID presents GenNext’ programme has been recognised for identifying and providing young and talented designers an opportunity to enhance their skills and take centrestage in the fashion industry. So far, GenNext has established more than 200 plus designers in the country.
This season too, rising stars will have the opportunity to showcase their ensembles to the world, virtually.
