Payal Singhal, a celebrated designer who is known for her India modern aesthetic is collaborating with premium accessory brand Joey & Pooh founded by visionary duo Shivani Rawat & Paresh Sharda to create a line of exquisite handcrafted headbands for the festive season.
Payal Singhal’s creative collaborations year after year in different lifestyle categories have led her to foray into the hair accessory segment. “I am really excited for this collaboration as hair accessories is a unique category and I haven’t worked on something like this yet. It’s a coming together of like-minded aesthetics with the part-vintage, part-quirky and all-round free-spirited design philosophy which both labels entail,” she avers.
The Joey & Pooh x Payal Singhal collab will include 17 headbands that are whimsical yet carry a boho sensibility.
Inspired by Payal Singhal’s latest collection ‘Parvaneh’ which takes cues from modernism and expresses it through the language of traditional Indian art, the headbands are a much needed companion for working from home, on drive outs, get-togethers with friends or even for jazzing up festive outfits.
“Payal, Paresh and I were determined to join hands and create a distinctive product from the very beginning. I am really happy and confident that this collaboration will spin a fresh perspective on headbands as festive accessories,” said Shivani Rawat.
Each headband bears intricate detailing created using traditional embroidery techniques and contemporary 3D embellishments. They carry the signature #PSPrints, metallic tassels, detachable hangings and pompoms. The motifs inspired by flaura and fauna are crafted in a neutral palette of monochrome, rose pink and stone with bursts of lime, blue and peach.
The collection also includes a “Mommy-and-Me” Headband edit which is perfect for mothers and daughters. The headbands will be packaged in beautiful magnetic boxes the signature floral patterns that can be repurposed as trinket boxes.
