Gerber Technology, a business unit of Gerber Scientific Inc. and Microsoft Gold Certified Partner that develops and manufactures world’s popular brands of integrated software and hardware automation systems for the sewn products and flexible materials industries, has recently released the easy to use new version of AccuMark™ 8.4.1, enhancing productivity and improve material utilization.
AccuMark is the standard for pattern design, grading, marker making and nesting in the apparel, transportation interiors, furniture and industrial fabrics industries. “The software is easy to use by our clients and emphasizes on productivity enhancement,” said Bill Brewster, President, Software Solutions, Gerber Technology.

Automation is a powerful capability in AccuMark. The in-built ‘Autosave’ feature in the system helps to protect documents from sudden power break downs. The new ‘Save Workspace’ function lets pattern makers close down their system in the middle of a project without losing work in the PDS work area. “This feature can also be used to share sessions between users for enhanced collaboration,” adds Brewster.
The new version also helps automatically move jobs through different processes in the system, providing enhanced flexibility and control in batch for customized processing to meet the user’s specific needs. The function can be used interactively during marker making. Once a group of pieces are placed, compact marker can be used to improve the efficiency of that section of the marker.
Besides several other features, significant improvements have also been made to AccuMark’s ability to generate cut data. The automatic start point option identifies the knife entry points at optimal locations – where there is limited congestion. Inconsistent fabric is easily handled as shade zones in AccuNest software makes this process much more manageable. AccuNest can shorten markers made manually or automatically by compacting the pieces to eliminate excess material between parts.
