JCT Limited, India’s leading composite textile mill, has joined forces with Sweden-based Polygiene AB to launch VB-GO® hazmat suits, face masks and coveralls.
All these products will be equipped with ViralOff® antiviral treatment technology powered by Polygiene AB. The initial order placed by JCT Limited is 0.8 MSEK which is approximately US $ 80,000.
According to Priya Thapar, Director, Strategic Business Development of JCT Limited, the company has also extended the use of Swedish Viral Off® Technology in order to enhance the protection factor and hygiene of its range of products such as workwear, hospitality wear, medicalwear and school uniforms.
ViralOff® Technology kills over 99 per cent of viruses in 2 hours as per an ISO 18184:2019 test.
Since coronavirus has pushed the world to stay hygienic more than ever, the brands and manufacturers have already started catering to anti-infective wear.
“Anti-infective wear is one category that is going to be the new normal,” averred Priya.
It’s worth mentioning here that JCT is claimed to be the first Indian company to have developed a personal protective hazmat suit for the Government of India. “The suit exceeds the existing standards set by the Government,” claimed Priya, adding, “We are honoured and privileged to announce our partnership with Polygiene for using their specialised technologies like ViralOff® to address the requirements for anti-infective wear that the post nCov-19 world scenario will demand from the clothing and workwear sector, to ward off a range of infective agents.”
Ulrika Björk, CEO, Polygiene AB, commented “We are proud to be able to supply ViralOff® to JCT Limited in this time of emergency. For us, JCT Limited is an ideal and strong partner that has the aim to expand in the segment of protective clothing together with us, and we are looking forward to a long and prosperous cooperation going forward.”
