
Karl Mayer will be charting the technical textiles territory with a recently consolidated merger – Karl Mayer Technische Textilien GmbH. The contract to seal the merger has been signed between Karl Mayer Liba Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH and Karl Mayer Malimo Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH.
The merger will operate from the German cities of Chemnitz and Naila; however, the headquarters will be based in Chemnitz. Karl Mayer Technische Textilien GmbH will be helmed by Marcus Kube, Jochen Schmidt and Karlheinz Liebrandt – the Managing Directors of the old subsidiaries. The merging of the two companies has been described by Arno Gärtner, MD, Karl Mayer, as a logical consequence of a process of change that started at the beginning of 2014 and led to the formation of a strong alliance.

Like the defining undertone of all mergers, even this, merger will leverage the strength and competencies of both the parties for collective good. According to Karl Mayer, the employees in both Saxony and Bavaria are ideally placed to react quickly to the wide-ranging requirements of their customers worldwide. They work closely with the users of Karl Mayer’s machines and have a wealth of knowledge that they have gained over many years, the company reports. Moreover, since both the companies already have to their credit an excellent reputation of high-quality machines, maximum customer benefits, trendsetting innovations and excellent cooperation. Post the merger, the reputation is set to soar further.
However for now, as Jochen Schmidt, CEO explains, “The most important thing for me is to develop new products to meet the requirements of the market, thus enabling our customers to further develop existing and new end-uses.” The exhibits by Karl Mayer Technische Textilien GmbH will be shown at the JEC 2016 trade fair for the first time from 8 to 10 March in Paris.
