
Flipkart, the Walmart-owned e-commerce giant, has appointed Saroj Panigrahi, the former head of JPMorgan’s Indian legal department, as its new Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
Saroj will be responsible for all legal matters in Flipkart with special focus on board management, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Before this he has worked at various businesses including Vodafone Group, Reliance Industries and Accenture.
The company has made various changes to its executives and boards as it prepares for its planned IPO.
Furthermore, at the end of 2020, Flipkart brought in four new board members: CEO Krishnamurthy; HDFC CEO Keki Mistry; Walmart’s global Chief Technology Officer Suresh Kumar and Walmart’s Executive Vice President for international strategy and development Leigh Hopkins.
