An Industrial Manufacturing Cluster (IMC), covering approximately 3,000 acres, will be established next to Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar in order to promote industrial growth in Haryana. The Haryana Government and the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) will collaborate on the project, which is expected to cost Rs. 4,680 crore (US $ 546 million).
At a high-level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, this information was disclosed. The meeting was also attended by Vipul Goel, Minister of Civil Aviation.
The Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor will see the development of industrial townships in six cities across seven states, with the largest of these being the IMC in Hisar, which will span nearly 3,000 acres and be developed in two phases. CM Saini was informed during the meeting that the Union Government, in partnership with State Governments, is working on integrated industrial corridors featuring multi-modal connectivity to accelerate manufacturing and promote planned urbanisation.
The meeting was informed that around 10,000 job possibilities and over Rs. 32,000 crore (US $ 3.74 billion) in investments are anticipated from this project. All necessary and contemporary infrastructure, such as roads, a water treatment facility, and a solid waste management plant (STP), will be included in the IMC. To ensure the effective completion of this project, NICDC and the Haryana Government will shortly sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Saini gave the concerned officers instructions to accelerate the formalities. According to him, both Indian and foreign businesses will invest in the IMC. Maharaja Agrasen Airport occupies around 4,212 of the 7,200 acres that have been delineated in Hisar, with the IMC to be built on the remaining 2,988 acres. According to him, industries will greatly benefit from being close to the airport.
During the meeting, it was also disclosed that an Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub is being established on about 886 acres in Nangal Chaudhary, Haryana, as part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, which is being built by NICDC. Therefore, the existence of two significant industrial corridors will benefit Haryana tremendously by increasing investment and creating jobs in the state.
The State Government is dedicated to creating ten Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) across Haryana, according to Saini. The relevant officers have been instructed to take the required actions in this regard.
