Ludhiana-based sweater manufacturers have got a huge order of around 10 million sweaters from Uttar Pradesh-based firms.
The UP Government recently issued tenders for around 15 million sweaters and most of the orders were grabbed by the UP-based firms. These firms are now sourcing sweaters from Ludhiana.
The Ludhiana-based companies are happy to even work as a third-party supplier as they have got a good price.
These sweaters will be distributed in UP schools by the UP Government.
Maninder Singh, Banga Knitwear, Ludhiana who got an order of 1 million sweaters says that this order has proved to be a good relief as the business will now get some acceleration, at least for a few days.
The sweaters in maroon colour will be of acrylic yarn, 2/32 counts and per unit weight will be of 250 grams.
The industry is feeling relieved at getting this order as the same will benefit the entire supply chain of the textile industry and will create earning opportunities for many.
